So good. Can't understand the low ratings here. Very nice movie.

This is a beautiful, romantic story that does not settle for easy answers. The main character is a woman who must decide between rekindling a romance she began in childhood or remaining true to the husband she married when she needed to get a green card. The perfect ending, which I won't reveal here. had me in tears.

Boring? If you want to see Mission Impossible, then go see it. Only people who are into big Hollywood movies can think this movie is boring.

I want to see this one again. It was a superb, sublime, deep, and longitudinal view of adult relationship. Nora is an ambitious, intelligent, emotionally adept individual who knows what she feels while knowing what she wants AND is able to take care of those around her in the best possible way. Exhilarating to watch. Kudos to Celine Song, the playwright who wrote the screenplay, who apparently tells her own story to some extent in this film. I loved it. Claire

Very slow....will this ever be over?

I must have missed something in this movie. It could have been a very good movie, but it was so slow. I kept dozing off between lines being said. There was no GREAT emotion in either of the relationships that kept me awake.

this is a joke that it's rated 5 stars

excellent movie

Nice movie. As a matter of fairness, Nora unambiguously states that they moved the date of their marriage ahead of when they planned to just for the benefit of her getting a green card earlier, where the relationship was clearly honest. Thus, I wouldn’t suspect any bad intentions here. It’s a well constructed movie starting off when they were just 12 years old and affected to each other, then she migrated to Canada and subsequently to the U.S. as a scholar. The opening scene is reminiscent of the third act when all three of them meet in New York, in a mutually emotionally challenging situation. The ending was quite immersive but also sufficiently conclusive what Nora was feeling and where she was headed.

The movie plot does exist in actual life. There are marriages happening for the sake of green card. Whether the married couple in this movie survive the test of time or for her to leave her husband for her childhood sweetheart. after getting her citizenship. The movie shows she has feelings towards her childhood sweetheart based on her body language. Didn’t the lady married her husband for green card as what the husband in the movie stated? Unfortunately the husband is more in-love than his wife to him. Else why would she be crying when her childhood sweetheart left to return back home to S.Korea.? Anyway, marriage is a big step for every couple in-love . I have heard positive and negative outcome between a citizen and non citizen or those who marry for green card.

Especially in the 21st century, when tech allows us to reconnect with others from our past, this is a powerful reminder of how love can make a life long impression on us; and what would we do if certain people “resurfaced” in our lives? This story balances fantasy, reality, life transitions, and just the human experience in a way that very few films have ever done before. Exquisitely written, directed and acted. Feels very much like an intimate (stage) theatre experience writ large on a screen. Truly remarkable storytelling. Run, don’t walk, to see this film.
