Fantastic! well done movie! don't listen to all the hater nerds that are over analyzing every little spec about something that was done in the past. Get over yourself and get with the program. These haters are beyond Trek nerds that have nothing else to do but pick apart a great film. Hold your stuffed animal tight night while you cry yourself to sleep JJ did a great job in creating this film, as well as the cast! Good job!

I loved it. Great new cast with years ahead of them. Nice homage to the original series. I can't wait to see the young nurse Chapel.

great acting, good story, good action scenes all in all very entertaining. I'd go see it again.

Unfortunately just a lot of preposterous things happen in this movie. I found it hard to ignore all of them. The movie is fun, and I like the actors. The story is old and lame, they had a chance to do something really new, and they decided to play it safe. Over all I am disappointed but enjoyed it despite that.

I just watched wrath of khan and then watched this move after reading some reviews here. People who are complaining about how they copied some that movie with crappy graphics need to get over themselves. These complainers would not be able to come up with anything comparable or creative themselves, just being harsh critics who are just negative in life. I think Khan was played very well in this movie by Benedict, have you watched Sherlock the tv series? Benedict is great in that as well. Pine and the rest did great as well no cheese ball acting, they were really into their roles and understood their responsibilities in this, Zach also did a great job with Spock's role..all in all a worthy

Was never into trek movies, always found them lackluster efforts. Especially the movies like Nemesis, but I think this new crew is exciting and they connect like a family. Good Mix of action, drama and some comedy. This movie this not disappoint

Solid movie from start to finish....JJ Abrams has a great touch.

who is this idiot giving 1 star. I get it's trendy to be negative but give it a rest. This movie was solid from beginning to end. IF you don't like it go watch twilight, but I fear that might be too much plot for you

After reading some of the posts here, I don't think people are angry at the star trek canon changes. Ok so it's a different time line, Vulcan is gone, ok the first movie was good because it was the catalyst of change and they could move in a new direction, slight changes causing different things to happen. that is fine, that is good change, what I think everyone is mad about is the rehash of wrath of khan, think they could have done almost anything and brought something new and different but they didn't and to make a new movie worse then a better version earlier one is what angred the fans.

They copied wrath of khan, but the khan they used wasn't as charismatic as the original and the plot holes are really big, not worth seeing. it's really horrible movie, makes you want to cry how they mangled it.

JJ you have no idea how to make a good movie you only try to copy old ones, like wrath of khan, you hack.

A studio plant can be discovered, if you know the signs. 1. they say a bad movie is good 2. they say don't listen to the bad reviews and try to discredit us 3. they say they are going to see the movie again this is hoping cuz they think by saying it good and they go see again, those of you might go, will go cuz they are going again has to be good right? wrong don't be fooled, it so bad I rather take my 10 bill and burn it then watch this again. I should sue for my first viewing back...

to boldy go where no one has gone before is their motto, who the heck forgot that mantra when they made this garbage movie. gorns, anything would be better, to say you like this movie is to say you love watching clip shows from series that need to save money so they throw some clips from episodes and put some backstory to tie them together. that is what people are gonna feel like they watched. a clip show with some added features. you ripped us off with this garbage, only a studio plant, a non fan who never seen khan or an idiot would like this trash. just watch next week numbers will drop 70% min, word of mouth already killed this movie.

Wow can you smell studio plant, they are every where in here now. Child of the 90's or lies from the desperate hoping to discredit the truth so you get tricked into going to see it. it's a crap version of the wrath of khan plain and simple, khan made money so they tried to rehash the formula hoping they make money. they failed miserably with nemesis doing this, then they stupidly tried again with into darkness. even stupid bergman said in an interview they wanted to make nemesis bigger then khan...they stupid exe's should've learned last time. they copied too much of a same storyline, they could have gone anywhere and did anything different, but they didn't, to boldy go where no one has go

Being a kid in the 80s/90s I watched a lot of trek as much as star wars. JJ did a good job with this movie. For all the nay sayers, well I am sorry you feel JJ *destroyed* star trek, Infact he did not. This series needed new blood pumped into it and this twist of an alternate timeline is quite interesting. Also no one else out there is giving star trek any positive traction or increasing its global awareness/rep at the moment. Rock on JJ, this was good.

I'm a huge Star Trek fan and I must say this movie is beyond bad it's garbage. They recycled the khan episode! how could it be possible that no one could come up with a new story! there must be at least one creative writer on this planet!!! JJ Abrams is also directing Star Wars so I guess it's going to end up like this crap. Hey I have an idea, they should put Khan in Star Wars he could fight Darth Vader and Spock could be yoda's nephew. I'm calling JJ Abrams tomorrow morning!

Such a nice change to have a Sequel that is even better than the first,Hopefully the magic will continue with another one.

Good movie, well done JJ, for those old school TOS fans who are saying JJ slaughtered canon and was not right to do this that or the other...well all i can say is, this is a different timeline and copying the old TOS is not the way to go...5 stars and 2 thumbs up for this movie, worth the watch in theater.

Wow studio plants are desperate, notice how many are saying going to see 2nd or 3rd time in a week, no one has time to see that many times in a week. it is failing at box office, they need to make 190 for movie and 130 for advertising, 320 million and it's already dropped 65% cuz it terrible movie. now plants are spreading seeing it 2 or 3 times hoping they sucker you in >:( it's really terrible movie don't go see it

Amazing, a must watch. It will keep you entertained even if you are not a trek fan. Going to watch it again for the 2nd time.

I see lots of postings probably people who needs this move to do good cuz they know they did it again. This movie is to superman returns to superman, they copied wrath of khan and anyone who watches this shame on you. they could have done anything else like gorns or something new and original for movie but they didn't learn from insurrection and did it anyhow. only this looks nicer then insurrection and everyone likes khan so they go see it. I can see it now, star trek 3 voyage home to original timeline...where they sling shot around sun to save Vulcan home world using red matter against romulan ship :O

Special effects and action themes are strong in this movie but the 3D focus means that everyone is always leaping off something into something else. After a while, it is a cliche. There are some funny sub themes. All officers on the enterprise are under the age of 23. All female crew members have skin tight uniforms and mini skirts. There must be a textile shortage at Star Fleet. They did hint at the underlying long term goal of the Federation is to have James T. Kirk mate with every alien life species until every species in the universe is part human.

I'd give it 4.5 stars if one could rate it half-way between excellent and "perfect". Great FX and lots of good action, and the actors were clearly having a good time (in a good way, not in a 'poor acting' kind of way). Only complaint: although I loved the original Star Trek TV series and every 2nd Star Trek movie (ie. with the original cast), there were just way too many references to the TV series and early movies. Still, go see it!!

Much better than the sorry excuse for a movie called iron man 3.

If you were faced with the choice between Iron Man and Star Trek, take Star Trek...much better storyline and villain
